About

The team.

Beers is a director-led practice. The technical position stays close to the person reviewing the evidence, while commercial, coordination and site-support roles help keep instructions controlled, responsive and properly recorded. The value is not only in technical judgement, but in keeping the evidence, stakeholders, programme and decisions aligned.

Technical Director

Nick Beers

BSc (Hons) MRICS AIFireE MIFSM

Nick Beers, Technical Director, Beers Consultancy

Nick is a Chartered Building Surveyor and the Technical Director of Beers Consultancy. He leads the technical position on complex building safety matters where fire safety, building fabric, regulation and commercial reality meet.

His work covers external wall risk and PAS 9980, Building Safety Case Reports, Building Assessment Certificate applications, Building Safety Regulator engagement and RFI response, Gateway strategy, remediation and funding, technical peer review and client-side technical representation.

He brings building fabric judgement to fire safety decisions. Proposed measures are read against the existing building, its structure, moisture, ventilation and long-term management, rather than as isolated fire safety points.

Outside work

Outside work, Nick is happiest on the coast with family, preferably with time for sea swimming, cycling or football. Chelsea is the constant thread, alongside a passion for good food, good wine and the next idea, plan or challenge forming in the background.

Qualifications and registration

BSc (Hons) Building Surveying, first class. MRICS, Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. AIFireE, Associate of the Institution of Fire Engineers. MIFSM, Member of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers.

Nick is registered under the RICS External Wall Assessor scheme, under which EWS1 forms are signed, and holds the competence PAS 9980:2026 requires at Clause 5 and Annex A.

Commercial Director

Emma Beers

Emma Beers, Commercial Director, Beers Consultancy

Emma leads client relationships, commercial oversight and programme coordination across Beers Consultancy's live instructions.

Her background is in senior sales leadership and account management with global organisations, including Deel and ADP. That experience is directly relevant to building safety work: complex instructions need clear communication, stakeholder control, disciplined follow-up and a commercial understanding of what clients are trying to achieve.

She holds onboarding, client communication, action tracking, document flow, fee proposals and stakeholder coordination, keeping clients, managing agents, lawyers, contractors and technical advisers aligned around the same position.

Outside work

Outside work, Emma enjoys time with friends and family, travel, shopping and finding somewhere good to eat, drink or stay. She likes things to feel considered, organised and enjoyable, which is not far removed from how she approaches the business.

Building and Fire Safety Technician

Jamie Beers

Level 2 and Level 3 passive fire protection

Jamie Beers, Building and Fire Safety Technician, Beers Consultancy

Jamie supports Beers Consultancy with site inspection, survey assistance and practical building safety records.

He brings a trade background and site experience, with Level 2 and Level 3 passive fire protection training. On a live instruction the quality of the record depends on understanding what is being looked at and how it was built.

Jamie assists with inspections, photographic records, access coordination, survey notes and site information capture across external wall, compartmentation and remediation-related work. His focus is on clear records, accurate locations, useful photographs and practical observations that support later technical review.

Jamie's role is site-support and evidence capture. Technical conclusions, recommendations and issued positions remain subject to director review.

Outside work

Outside work, Jamie enjoys sport, playing football, following Chelsea and spending time with his family. He also coaches his son's little league football team, which reflects his patience, enthusiasm and practical approach.
